Russian Circles is a three piece post-rock (only a little heavier; at times can be categorized as post-metal, even) band from Chicago, pretty similar to Pelican. I'd say they're somewhat less dull since they avoid longer sludge-ish passages. They retain the epic feel nonetheless, and sound both soothing and nervous at the same time. 

Umm, they've also toured with Tool. And I really like Tool.

Awesome for returning home cold and tired. Great for relaxation, or perhaps reading.

~Dark Ritual Ambient~ A very interesting combination of electronic and traditional music, with a bleak, morose atmosphere. A bit new age, but very interesting to listen to, if only for instruments like water drums, clay pots, tibetan bells and gongs. Good for quiet [stoned (optional)] midnights :D

Swedish psychedelic rock with a hint of folk and indie. Very catchy and likeable.

Good for happy stoned afternoons among friends. Good for laughs.
